comments -

Jennifer - will you use your awesome admin powers to enable comments on this here bloggy? It would be nice if, as a person visits the site, they could leave feedback immediately.

Make sure you do word verification for comments. Evil Spam Otherwise.

More bodies

Jess, you know who else we should contact about working on this project? All of the people that we worked with on 365.

Permission

So, a rehearsal schedule is good, but I think that we need to focus on getting permission--actually talking to MARTA about our project. Perhaps, Jess, since the workshop on Tuesday has been postponed, we should work on that after the inspection. I can call on Monday to find out who the senior Community outreach person is and then we can draft a letter and some sort of proposal for this project with a nod towards developing a more comprehensive arts program for the future.

Alright, I have to play MOM for a moment--it would be great if we could refer people to this blog when we start looking for funding, so lets keep the potty talk out of the blog. Send each other dirty e-mails if you need to talk more openly and explicitly with each other.

Ok, I am done...blog on.

Shakin it NOW

I think that one of the reasons that this projects start with theatre is because, with the commitment of its participants, it can happen NOW. So we start with performance in order to pave the way for other forms to make their way onto the train in time. The way we generate enthusiasm for this arts infiltration is through this project.

As per request...

I have begun the lists, as Josh requested. Do you both have access to edit the blog? If not then I can just add to the lists as things come up in our posts. The scenes are 2 that I have discussed with both of you, so I felt safe to add them. What other ideas have been bandied about?

Also, I chose train stations with high traffic for more exposure. Because of where we live, I am not as familiar with the south and west routes, but we definitely want to show up there because they are the "economically challenged" parts of the city. We'll chalk that up to research...

Speaking of research, I have been doing some. Jess suggested that I start posting links for all of us to start sorting through. My concern is that I feel it is unnecessary for all 3 of us to read through all of the same material. If we could systemize the research, that would be great. I'll start posting links on the list and maybe we could each pick an aspect of arts in transit that appeals to us individually to research.

Bogsuck

So...how about a list of the stations we're planning and a list of the scenes we discussed...Hey Jess Wells...stop surfing porn and get to work...and wash your nuts.

Jobs

I think that we have two very separate but equally important strands of action - artistic/creative and production/promotion. I like the mission statement. I think that if PLAYground can get .org status (even in a preliminary pre-501(c)(3) form) you could begin booking yourselves for classes and stuff through flyers at the performances.

Since you guys are together and in Atlanta, it makes sense for you to work on the production aspects. I don't know if you'd like for me to take the lead in making scene selections or creative decisions or whether Jess is going to do that. Surely he can do some of that during his long hours of watching pre-teens dance around in their stripper outfits (THAT WAS UN-FREAKING-REAL...haven't these people seen LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE?).

If Jess is going to Act in this biznatch, what about Lachlan (sp.?)? Can't she act? As I was thinking about having Jess and Jennifer perform the Kate/Petruchio Bee Sting scene I began to think, "The only problem with this is that Petruchio is supposed to be physically overpowering to Kate, but Jennifer can kick Jess's asterisk." Well, maybe we can put Jess in platform shoes or something.

Hey Jess, you have the song. I think I saw the notebook by your computer. It ain't in my stuff, unless it's in my other bag. If I find it in there when I get home tonight, I'll bring it to school tomorry and type it up.

I can hardly wait.

Bloggin that Train

Here we go! I've set up the blog, as I so cleverly suggested in my e mail, so that we can communicate effectively and have all of our ideas in one place. So post, you scurvy dogs!
